We are proud to feature this week’s NLF Member, Martin Pinela. Since his start in January, he’s lost an astonishing 110 pounds!! AMAZING!! We are very inspired and proud of his dedicated efforts in his journey. Get to know Martin and his story:
“In January 2016, I started looking back on pictures of me from Christmas. There was a picture of me that I just didn’t like looking at, but I just kept looking at it. I just thought, ‘It’s time to change.’ I was weighing 389 pounds; I was getting closer to 400 pounds.
I then decided to make a diet change, and I started walking everyday. Initially, that diet change I did myself, wasn’t a good diet. It was basically me starving myself, when I first started in January. I lost about 30 pounds on my own, and that is when I came into Next Level Fitness. They set me up with the Fit in 42 program, and gave me a real diet plan. Now, I am eating a lot of good and healthy foods and have continued to lose weight from it. Fit in 42 truly has changed my life.
Before joining, I didn’t feel very good about myself. I was very low energy, I had no ambition, and I just was tired all the time. I’ve had enough, and I knew something had to change.
I was walking around Next Level during my daily walks and noticed the gym and would see people running laps. Every once in a while, someone that was running a lap would say ‘Keep going…Good job!’ I wasn’t even part of the gym yet, and other members were already encouraging and being supportive of me. They made me feel welcomed and already part of the family.
An unexpected result from being a part of the Next Level family, is definitely my social skills have gone up. For a while, I was pretty much a hermit at my house. I didn’t want to look people in the eyes even, when I would meet people. But now that’s completely changed. Now, I feel great. I am more social. I am more active. It’s just a complete 180 to the person I was before.
For anyone who is on the fence on coming into Next Level – I would say, do it as soon as possible. It will change your life, it really will…Do it before you feel like it’s too late. Even though it’s never too late, it can feel that way.”
